Atlanta, Ga, June 08, 2022 (World NEWSWIRE) — Peter Demerjian has been named director of the University of Accountancy (SOA) at Georgia Condition University’s J. Mack Robinson Higher education of Organization. He joins Georgia Condition from the College of Illinois at Chicago where he is an affiliate professor with tenure and acting head of the Division of Accounting.
Demerjian’s analysis focuses on the function of accounting in personal debt contracting and the use of accounting information to measure managerial means. His scholarship has been posted in leading accounting journals and premier typical desire management journals. Demerjian is thought of a leading authority on the effects of accounting requirements on debt covenants. He serves on the editorial advisory and overview board of “The Accounting Review” and the editorial board of the “Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance.”

Demerjian succeeds previous SOA director Douglas Stevens, the Patricia W. Copeland Deloitte Chair in Accountancy, who returned to college in July 2021. Debra Cannon, director of the Cecil B. Day College of Hospitality Administration, served as interim director for the past calendar year.
According to Brigham Younger University Accounting Rankings for Universities, Robinson’s College of Accountancy is 12th around the world in managerial accounting, 14th in experimental methods, and 3rd globally for exploration at the intersection of managerial accounting utilizing experimental strategies. “U.S. News & Globe Report” ranks Robinson’s undergraduate method in accounting 19th in the nation among the public university courses and 49th all round. This fall, Robinson will launch a completely on line Grasp of Taxation.
Demerjian holds a doctorate from the University of Michigan. He will be part of Ga State on July 1.
